  • You can tell the difference between the 60 and 105 horse engine by the head bolts.The 60 horse had 20 the later model and the 100 horse power had 24 headbolts to each side. The 60 horse power models had the ignition mounted between the two water pumps on the front of the engine. The 100-105 horse power engines had the ignition mounted top front of the intake mantifold.

  • My grandfather owned a 1952 Ford 8N w/ a V8 engine. He passed away a couple years ago and I am trying to sell the tracotr for my grandmother.   • I just purchased a 1949 8N Ford at least the seller says "that it is to the best of his knowledge", anyway it has been converted to 12 volt, but the ajuster rod that holds the alternater belt tight is hitting the alternater keeping it from tightening the belt up!The rod is bolted down onto the front head bolt. Can anyone tell me if there is another rod that I can use that does not hit the alternater and if so would it bolt to the front head bolt as well?
