  • My Uncle John had a Port Huron Traction Engine and Thresher, I have a picture of it and the thresher when it fell though the Cass River bridge east of Marlette, Mi. I also have a technical manual for the Port Huron Machine that I could make copies of if anyone is interested. 18 plus shipping, lee

  • I enjoyed seeing your engine. I was the back up bidder when it was sold at auction. I have a 1917, 19-65 Port Huron and a 1917,65 Case. The Case is a much easier steamer than the Port Huron. All of the patterns from the Port Huron Company have been saved along with the build sheets, etc. Steam is very exciting and interesting. I have enjoyed collecting, showing, and talking steam for many years. There has been a lot of discussion about safety and steam. I want to state that any respected steam engineer knows his equipment and what the steal is saying. Man and machine are a marvelous combination.

  • Can you get any technical data on these Port Hurons? My great-great-grandad had one and it killed him the very day he took possession of it (see Brandon Sun, Monday Sept. 23-rd 1903), either bridge he was driving it on collasped or they drove it off the bridge. He and the fireman were trapped under the engine for two days untill their bodies were recoverd. The pocket watch he wore was restored only ninety-one years later (an 1881 11-jewel Waltham PS Bartlet) and I am hoping to qualify as steam engine engineer this may at the Austin agricultural museum. As for the engine, I am told she was sold logging concern working in Turtle Mountain, Manitoba around 1936.

No manuals or information from the seller so I was just looking around. Will try to make it to fair grounds too see your machine. If you know anyone that has info on a Yazoo e-mail me. Thanks Steam Dave
