This is the offset version of the Ford 541. It was designed for implements to be mounted under the body and gave an unobstructed view. This was a departure from the concept of rear-mounted implements. |

bill lemons wrote on Sunday, September 13, 2009 (PDT):I restored a 541 offset. Based on the serial number its a 1959 model. I converted the 6v to 12v. and that makes it much more fun to use as it cranks without problems summer and winter. I used a 801 block with 541 exhaust/intake manifold and carburator to limit the horse power. This engine was completely rebuilt professionally and is powerful. I need at steering box. This is the hardest part to find on the whole tractor. Only the 541 uses this steering gear box. Anyone with a parts tractor please contact me if the steering box is available.

The tractor resembles the 500 series pictures. The only numbers I have been able to find are; 540-N-1000 which is a cast number located under starter and 5668137 stamped on the steering column. Can anyone help me with any information on this tractor? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

We use it fron 1959 to 1985 growing cutflowers in mid Ohio till it was sold. Also,we had the sidedressor for the one row cultivators. I still have a few pictures.
