  • i remember back in the late 40's or early 50's, when i was a farmer, a polish farmer in back of us got a new cockshutt 50--remembering how all us farmers were back then, we just couldnt talk enough about them buying such a tractor when all our farm neighbors and us were so faithful with the IH and JD companys. as the time went on their so called "dumb cockshutt" stayed up with all the surrounding farmers tractors. THE GREAT REMEMBERANCES OF THE OLE FARMERS FROM THE BYGONE DAYS. THIS ALL TOOK PLACE IN SARATOGA COUNTY TOWN OF CHARLTON. LONG LIVE ALL THE OLD TIME TRACTORS!!!!!!

  • I have a 40, a 550, and a 560. These are my favorite tractors! My Dad and I farmed with these tractors for 35 years. My Dad won a lot of tractor pulls with a 560, back in the 60's and 70's. I'm restoring a 40 now for tractor pulling.

  • My dad had a 35L that we bought from a neighbor. We used it for just about everything from pulling trailer loads of wood out of the bush, to haying on my moms farm, towing cars and small buidings up the road. That tractor pulled everything we hooked on to it. After years of use it dropped a valve and my dad didn`t get a chance to fix it as he passed away in 1989 when I was 19. In my stupidity I sold it when I was 20 for a measley $250 because I needed some cash. Am I ever kicking myself for selling it. I loved to drive that thing. Lord willing someday I can afford to but another Cockshutt so my kids can have the enjoyment that I had as a young man. I like the 30 35 40 50 and the 500`s are nice too.
